First - where is the dowel exercise video ... it is probably staring at me ... but I cannot find it - and
Second ... the Ben Doyle videos ... huge files so I downloaded lesson one to my hard drive ... I think it is 124 megabytes ... but when I try to play it ... I only get sound ... and some snatches of video .. approx 4 or 5 seconds ... the sound continues for the entire 18 minutes ... but the video freezes to a still frame ... is the problem with my PC? Any suggestions welcome ... these lessons look, or at least sound, excellent.
By the way they launch in Windows Media Player on my PC .. if that makes any difference.
Thanks Martee ... don't know how I missed that ...
Anybody got any advice re. second question?
Thanks again.
As for the second question, you could just right click on the targeted vid and download it on your machine. Then try playing it from your machine. This way you will have a copy locally.
Maybe your media player needs an update.
Not much help, but the best I can think of for the time being.
The first set of Ben Doyle video's are very large. They were some of the first video's I rendered and like everything else on this website, I'm learning as I go. I would like to redo them at some point and make them more web friendly, but each video burns up a couple of days of editing and finishing and spare time is rare right now.
The "Admins" on this site are volunteers and we have very demanding full time occupations which are not "Net" related. I hope the above works for you. If not PM me, Trig, or BamBam and we'll dig into your error messages.
You definitely need to update your media player. Download from Microsoft and update or you can get several free ones from download sites. Look for media player, free in google. You can also check the adjustment on your current media player buffer (larger buffer = better play back).

... in case anybody is having the same problems as me ... I found the fix on another post somewhere on these forums ... just go into tools - options - and turn off performance ... solved the problem for me.
